On Thursday we Abigail had her 9 month well baby visit. She is now a whopping 17.2 lbs. and 27 in. tall.
Her four top front teeth are itching to break through and last night it looked as if one had finally popped out. Sleep at night has been patchy at best lately but we have hope for a return to 10+ hours.
Sadly enough she's on to her 4th ear infection so we've made an appointment with an Acupuncturist / Herbalist in town that was recommended by her Pediatrician. Hopefully she'll have some helpful info. to share with us.
As to her getting around she is crawling all over, pulling up on everything in sight and has started cruising along the couch and other long pieces of furniture. Baby proofing the house is in full swing as we discover little things we've overlooked. She now learned how to sit down from a stand so the amount of falls has been reduced significantly. YEAH! The one thing we wish she had a little of was 'fear'. She has no idea that some of her crazy moves will result in injury so it's a good thing the parents have a clue ;).
On the eating front she has decided that she doesn't want us to feed her anymore. To combat that fun new streak of independence she gets to hold her own spoon while we try to get bites into her mouth. Oh what a mess that makes, but at least most of the food makes it into her mouth. She has started eating pieces of chicken now and loves the stringy texture of the meat. It's funny to watch her eat it.
She truly is a joy to watch. She has a very strong personality and knows already what she wants and for that matter doesn't want. It will be a kick to see what she tries to tackle next.
Well enough for now. We'll post pictures soon.

If you give her a spoon to hold onto while you feed her that may help with the grabing of the feeding spoon,It worked well with Alyssa at that stage. I take it you aren't eleminating foods to see if the ear infections are a posible food alergy related? Good luck with the Acupuncturist. Hope something works.
Her Ped. didn't feel that the ear infections are food alergy related based on the lack of other symptoms. From what we were told the Herbalist has done wonders with other little ones who have reoccuring ear infections. So we have some hope. We'll keep you posted.
Hey, just another piece of advice... as if you don't get enough???
For us what works is garlic oil in their ears whenever they get a cold. You can get it at a health food store and you just put one to two drops at night in each ear whenever they have a cold. Reese hasn't had an ear infection since we started doing this and Carsten hasn't had any...
Good Luck!
BTW--Abigail is adorable!!!
I can't believe Scarlett will one day be that mobile and busy! Abigail is so cute and what a little personality she has!
